Terra Forma — Soglia, threshold; one high slot, no fixture
(01)Sogliathreshold

A short, deliberately narrow entry finished entirely in rammed clay. The only object is a bench cut from the same earth, so the room reads as a wall you can sit on.

The main room, kept almost empty. Two low linen sofas face each other across a terracotta floor, and the clay wall behind them is the only thing on show.

Named for the oven wall that closes it. A solid clay table, four unglazed vessels, and a single pendant hung low enough to keep the ceiling dark.

The curationDescription

A room finished in earth: rammed clay, unglazed terracotta and matt lime, where nothing reflects and everything holds the light it is given.

Terra Forma is built out of one decision — no gloss anywhere. The clay wall is rammed in visible lifts, the floor is unglazed terracotta laid with a wide joint, and every surface above waist height is lime, trowelled and left slightly uneven. Light lands and stays put rather than bouncing across the room.

That matt field changes what furniture has to do. Because no surface throws a highlight, form has to carry the room: heavy low seating in undyed linen, a plinth table cut from one block, and a single ceramic lamp whose glaze is the only shine permitted in the plan.

Terra Forma — Light directive: No reflected light. Every source lands on a matt surface and stops.
(01)LightDirective

No reflected light. Every source lands on a matt surface and stops.

One high slot at the threshold, one west window in the main room, one low pendant over the table. Nothing is uplit, because a matt ceiling gives nothing back. The result is a room that is dim at the edges by design and never flat.

Terra Forma — Material directive: Rammed clay, unglazed terracotta, lime plaster. Nothing sealed to a shine.
(02)MaterialDirective

Rammed clay, unglazed terracotta, lime plaster. Nothing sealed to a shine.

The clay is rammed on site in 120mm lifts and left unsealed above the splash line. Terracotta is laid with a 12mm joint and waxed, not lacquered. Lime plaster carries the upper walls one tone lighter than the floor.

(03)FormDirective

One block anchors each room; everything else is low and soft.

A cast bench, a plinth table, a clay dining top: each room gets exactly one heavy, solid gesture. Around it, seating drops to 600mm so the wall stays the tallest thing in view.

Terra Forma — Furniture directive: Undyed linen, ash and terracotta. One glazed object, and only one.
(04)FurnitureDirective

Undyed linen, ash and terracotta. One glazed object, and only one.

Upholstery is a single undyed linen across every seat so the eye reads shape rather than colour. Frames are ash, left raw. The ceramic lamp is the sole glazed piece in the curation and it sits where it will catch the last of the west light.
